Colorful Butterflies

These butterflies were block of the month paper piecing patterns in 2018/2019.

This time I did not take the native butterflies as model but the very colorful tropical ones. The black and white backgrounds bring out the colors of the butterflies particularly well.

Flower Power

The flowers of this quilt were block of the month paper piecing patterns in 2014/2015.

Designing these patterns I wasn't so lifelike as usual but let fantasy flowers bloom. This way I could make use of my colorful patterned fabrics.

Lighthouses

The motives of my  Lighthouses quilt were block of the month paper piecing patterns in 2013/2014.

Every lighthouse comes from another country, additionally there are some maritime blocks and three little seagulls.

Roses and Stars

Sewing this quilt I combined my love for roses and eight-pointed stars. The roses are handappliquéd, the stars are english paper pieced by hand. All other sewing and quilting is done by machine, so the quilt gets finished in time.

Orchids

Orchids are blooming in Germany all the year round in many homes. I like their exotical shapes and the shiny colors.

I've made the whole quilt of  fabrics from fabricsample-packets. So many years ago in Germany you could buy them at shops that offered their fabrics by shipment.
