My
housequilt is machinequilted with
"Cotty 30"-thread. All patterns on my housequilt are free motion quilted. The feed dogs of the sewing machine
were lowered and the quilt was moved under the needle so you can
"paint" your pattern.
I
chose the color of the quilting-thread matching the fabric color;
so partly the quilting on the photos is hard to see. It will become better
if you enlarge the pictures by clicking on them. |
On sparse patterned fabrics I quilted leaf- or flowerpatterns.
|
The sky was quilted with clouds
all over.
|
Around the houses and
other sewn motivs I did outline quilting.
|
On intensly patterned
fabrics I outlined the pattern with quilting.
|
Or I did both: outline
quilting around the butterflys and free motion quilted grass in the
background.
|
My typical meadow quilt
pattern.
|
All
you can draw with a continuous line you can use for machinequilting. I
practise my patterns on a sheet of paper. For I wanted to try so many
different patterns in this housequilt, I made a plan on which background
what pattern in which color should be quilted.
